Artist’s introduction to Growth:

Through painting, I build stages that are completed only when somebody inhabits them. Growth is many things at the same time. It is an attempt to claim some sort of filial link between my work and Richard Long’s A Line Made by Walking (1967). It is also the recognition of the presence of incompletion in my work. My paintings are only paintings when inhabited and activated by the viewers. Finally, Growth is an attempt to bring back, both to Richard Long’s gesture and to my work, the performative action that constructs the pieces in the first place.
